Family of Frank^8 Van Wicklen

** Some members of this family have occasionally used a variant spelling of their surname, i.e.  "Van Wycklen," as can be seen below in Frank's draft registration (that he signed "Frank Van Wycklen") and in newspaper articles about Elbert and his daughter. Some of the census forms use this surname variant as well. However, there are other documents that show the use of the surname Van Wicklen, and there does not appear to be a consistent use of the Van Wycklen surname that has survived to the present. ***
